WIP Mother's Day Fleece Flower Magnets by cutekick WIP Mother's Day Fleece Flower Magnets by cutekick
*** Etsy *** Tumblr *** FAQ ***

This is what I have been working on for the last few days. :iconspplushies: suggested I make some fleece flowers from my scraps and I liked the idea. I don't think this is what she had in mind =p There are several more common ways to make flowers from fleece scraps but I never seem to go that route.

These are made with fleece petals, felt centers, and a few have felt leaves. You may notice they are on my fridge, there have magnets inside of them. The single layered ones are strong enough to hold themselves and some paper up with out problems but the double layered ones seem to slide really easily, they stay up fine but everyone knows a good magnet does not slide super easily. I think will need to buy some stronger magnets for the double layered kind.

I don't have to make them magnets, I could make them into hair clips or pins. I am concentrating on magnets for now because some these are going to my boyfriend's mother and my mother as small mother's day gifts. I am just making a bunch how ever I feel and then we are going to choose a few we like best to send. I am pretty sure that neither of our mother's would wear these as hair clips or pins so magnets seemed like a good idea. Also, it seems like a great way to brighten up the kitchen for spring.

I still have lots of things I want to try with them so expect some new ones in the future. I might start making some to sell but I am not at that point. What do you think? I would really love some feedback on this idea.

What a cute way to brighten up the kitchen :D

I like the one on the bottom left with the pink center, white petals, magenta outer petals, and green leaves.

Thanks! Ah, that one is pretty. Unfortunately it actually has some trouble keep itself on the fridge let alone anything else. I started to use much better magnets with them now so they don't have that problem.

Wow, I adore these! My favorite is the one with the dark purple center, purple petals, and light purple back petals.

Thanks! My mother really likes that one too. She uses it to cover up a dent on the fridge while the rest are stuck on corners around the house.
