Merc Hat - Commission by cutekick Merc Hat - Commission by cutekick
*** MY ETSY *** MY STORENVY ***

**Hats do not cover eyes. The model head is made smaller than the average human head. This causes the hat to cover the eyes and parts of the face that it will not on a person.**

More Hats

Character and artwork belong to :iconkai-ni: I claim no rights over them and the artwork was used with permission.

This hat is of :iconkai-ni:'s OC Merc. We did simplify the design a little, removing the green around the edge of the ears because it would have compromised ear stability. I really enjoyed making this hat. It went through 3 revisions before I got it right. The original plan was the make the ears a more pointed version of my rabbit hat but I had to thicken them to make the shape right. This left them look more squat then I wanted so I extended them. That makes these my tallest ears ever at a full 10 inches tall (my rabbit ears are only 7). The fully stand up on their own. THERE IS NO WIRE IN THE EARS!!!

The hardest thing about this hat wasn't actually the ears (they were a challenge) but getting the red coloring to go from the red triangle pattern in the front to the back of the ears, and back side of the head. It wanted it to all line up correctly and look natural. I think I accomplished my goal.

I do not normally put OC custom hats up here but this one I really liked and I felt it really showed off some of the things I can do. Hope you like it!

Thank you! This was a very fun commission. I hope your hat meets your expectations. I do my best to show my hats in a realistic light rather then photoshopping them to unrealistic perfect. Prices are based on complexity. The person who bought this paid more than most because it was a one time only hat and I had to make a pattern for it. I have to say, I am very proud of my reviews. I do not ask for them or give any incentive to them like I hear some sellers do. I just do what I can to make each item to the best to my ability and hope the buyer is happy. I always feel to honored when someone decides to leave a positive review for me.

Do you mind to share what you ordered? Your user name must be different on Etsy, that or I happened to skip over you when I was looking through my current orders. I am just curious so if you do not want to share you do not have to.

Ah, that is one of my favorite color options for the fox hats. It is not at all popular so I was happy to sell one. I rarely do, online at at conventions. Most people seem to want the crazy colored things instead.

Thanks! I can't really explain it either. I gather that the natural ones might do better at a furry convention but I have yet to try selling at one so I don't know.
